Epic Heroes

Epic Heroes

Gaming is an important aspect of my relationship with Anna. Video games are what make up the, “akai ito“ that originally pulled us together. For myself as a gamer, I take a different approach to the cliche quote. “Couples who game together stay together.” That is not to say we are constantly engrossed within our virtual lives. Instead, we simply tone down the frequency in which we game, and both of us are constantly looking for suitable candidates to meet our current needs. For example, around the time we started dating, we were quite hardcore into the highly competitive game Ragnarok Online. Both of our lives weren’t too busy at the time, therefore, we were able to invest many hours grinding, healing, and fighting for our beloved guild Azure Breeze. In the last year, our schedules were filled up with professional obligations in order to further upheave the status of our societal value(what? #HIMYM #paramore). We needed a game we could play together in short bursts of time, due...

IPad Air and Productivity

IPad Air and Productivity

I know I am fashionably late to the tablet party, the iPad air being my first entry into the now 4 year old idea of mobile personal computing. I have to admit, I was surprised at Apple’s generosity by including the iLife family of apps, with any iPad Air purchased brand new and registered to an iTunes account for the first time. If only they were as consumer friendly towards the ongoing problem concerning 2011 MacBook pros, re: discrete GPU issues. iPhoto is a great way to touch up on photos that I take on my iPhone. In fact, the convenience of being able to edit them right away using iCloud actually makes me want to take more photos as I do not have to deal with transferring everything to my MacBook, and opening photoshop just to start. As a hobbyist noob when it comes to photography, I do not want to spend time and effort perfecting photographs, so the iPad allows me to enjoy the hobby for what...

Back from the Void

Back from the Void

I lost what little interest I had in this blog when I decided to quit stomping face in Ragnarok Online and realized that I enjoyed video editing my war footage more than actually blogging. Though 17 months have past without even the slightest update, I kept the server funded and the domain renewed as I continued to ponder what I would make out of this. My return to the .com universe is inspired by many things as of late, though I would likely credit one main source of constant inspiration in recent years. That would have to be my girlfriend of two years and counting, Anna. To kick off my first post in 2014, I will start by sharing a wonderful Christmas present I received from her. I could already guess that my Christmas present was going to be super creative. She is always thinking outside of the box, and pays attention to every detail in our relationship(I have to be careful sometimes, haha). Sure enough, the song playing...

Haruhi Cosplay @ Fan Expo Toronto 2012

Haruhi Cosplay @ Fan Expo Toronto 2012

With all the Fan Expo hype finally dying down, I’m ready to get my blog back on it’s feet, and what better way to jump start my space than my very own first ever cosplay attempt with my girlfriend. I played as Kyon from the anime Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. Judging by his attire, I figured that it would be an easy task. For the most part I was right, but the finding a teal/turquoise blazer proved to be quite a challenge. I ended up finding one at the thrift store Value Village, in the women’s section(yes, it is a women’s blazer!!). The ‘M’ school logo was cut out from iron on fabric and ironed on. Materials Women’s teal blazer from Value Village $28.00 Bright red iron-on fabric from Fabricland $1.00 Bright red tie from Wal-Mart $20.00 Fitted white dress shirt from my closet Fitted charcoal pants from Mexx $40.00 Chestnut brown dress shoes from Macy’s $50.00 The hair professionally done by my Japanese hairdresser w/ highlights & waxed...

Medium Rare Steak!

Medium Rare Steak!

After some long hours at the office I decided to pay my mum a visit at her apartment. I gave her the heads up that I was coming over so she started preparing some steak for me to throw on the grill. Nothing super awesome, but just wanted to feed you all some food porn. The perfect medium rare steak! Preheat your grill to 400F. Throw the steaks on the grill for 4 minutes, parallel to the burners so that the meat cooks evenly. Turn after 2 minutes. Remove after 2 minutes.   Potatoes: -thinly sliced white potato -garlic powder -sauteed mushroom Steak: -garlic powder -pepper -sauteed mushroom and onion Spinach -garlic salt -1 teaspoon sesame...
