Carnivals are addicting, and virtual versions of them are no exception! At first, I threw in $1 just to give it a go which allotted me 50 plays. I was able to complete all 10 levels of the game High Roller within 40 plays, the equivalent of ring toss. After about 20 plays, I managed to figure out some patterns with how the positioning of your gun affects where the ball ultimately ends up. Apparently, I’m one of the few that managed to finish off the game under 50 plays! See the video of the virtual tour of the space for those who are confused.

Moving on with 10 plays in hand, I decided to give a few other games a try. Before I knew it, 4 hours have disappeared into the pages of history, and I was down $7. Bright side, about 75% of the games were completed! Doing the math in my head, I guesstimated an additional $3-5 would net me the infamous gold jacket awarded to those who complete all games, all levels…

…and then I met Darla, and her darts. This game was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had during my Home life! There was actually a point where I began to slam my PS3 Dual Shock Controller on the desk to vent my frustration of popping 4 “50″ point balloons, only to miss the last “25″ pointer from excitement. After a few bucks down the drain, I managed to best Darla and her insanely difficult to play game, popping 5 “50″ point balloons in a row. Total amount spent at this point: $14

My last nemesis, the God forsaken yellow blip on Fickle Flapper!! That game became the 2nd bane of my existence, and reigned as the only minuscule, little piece of sh…. tile separating me from my golden Midway jacket. After a long battle of 177 plays spread across 2 days, the yellow tile came home.

Total amount spent: $18 + 13% HST tax = $20.34 CDN with 23 plays left to spare. I had a good start with many of the games, especially High Roller and Ball Squeezer, a game that seemed to suck the cash out of a fair percentage of players. Unfortunately, the darts and yellow tile ended my streak of hopefully netting a cheap jacket. In the end, I was happy with my virtual items and was satisfied that I didn’t give up.

I’m sure Sony was satisfied as well =\

Hey there sports fans! It is I, the simply awesome entity known as Uruwashii, bringin’ it back to ya old school with my old circa ’09 Q1 look. Change seems to be the current trend outlining this generation. Let me exemplify!

Let’s go abroad! More and more aspiring young adults are taking the leap to either study or work abroad. Such occupations include education, tourism, international business, prostitution….err.

Let’s get pretty! Plastic surgery, liposuction, face lifts, bot-ox, organ enlargements, etc. were services catered to only a select demographic during the ‘olden days.’ Present times tell a new tale, where you no longer question whether or not your friend’s perfect nose is a result from genetics or an operation, but instead how much it cost.

Let’s get loud!(a neat song by Jennifer Lopez btw!!) Picture 1999, if you’re old enough to be able to. Now brainstorm at least 10 ways you were able to express your opinion in a public nature, during this time. If you were up to date with technology, you might have been able to conjure up a geocities website, leaving a large fraction of the world envious by your ability to post an animated gif. blogger, twitter, tumblr, flickr, wordpress, blogspot, facebook, need I say more?

People as a whole are evolving into global citizens. I look forward to the day that when asked where you are from, one would answer: Planet Earth….. that is if technology allows it

What I’m trying to get at, has very little to my ramblings above. I simply am going to organize the output of my personal web presence into a Triforce.

Uruwashii.com – My personal soapbox, things from me and me personally.

uruwashii.tumblr.com – Neat things I find on the ‘net that affect my mood in absolutely any way, shape, or form.

This quote has with it a mentality I would really like to share with everyone reading this post. My new year’s resolution was to adopt this mindset in everything that I think, say, and do. As you all well know, I am an avid gamer spending at least 5-10 hours weekly either grinding combos, levels, and stories. In fact, 5-10 hours is taking it easy since I need to make time for studying, exercise, cooking, and work, as opposed to my high school days where my metabolism astounded thousands allowing me to game 20+ hours a week living off McDonalds and PizzaVille. What I am trying to get at is, whatever it is you’re going to do at any given day, do it with flare. Be awesome.

When I game, I play to win.
When at work, I aim to succeed.
When I exercise, I see results.
When I travel, I embrace the culture.
When I speak, I hope to inspire.

I just came back from yet another visit to New York City with my best buds SLaYAh and @Ja. Cheggit!!

Alright, maybe that wasn’t said by some wise man, but I have come to realize truth within the statement. Too many topics pile up as I continuously tried to organize a bulky comeback post, with enough content to satiate my few readers. Refer to this quote by one of my favorite actors who seems to sneak into every movie, Mr. Morgan Freeman(Deep Impact):

“Cites fall, but they are rebuilt. And heroes die, but they are remembered. We honor them with every brick we lay, with every field we sow, With every child we comfort, and then teach to rejoice in what we have been regiven. Our planet. Our home. Now, let us begin.”

In other words, it is time to start fresh. This webspace has fallen, but will be rebuilt! 2010 will pave the path towards new experiences, new games & technology, and a whole new outlook on life.

Welcome to Uruwashii

Complicated, as if a labyrinth of icy rain
Peaceful and kind, too exquisite for pain
Cast upon the humble children, smiling
Beauty, tradition, shape, disillusion
Twisting and turning, causing confusion
However,
Heartwarming, as to signify a new age
Of happiness, without doubt, without danger
To reminisce about a baby boy in a manger
An overweight Clause
And hovering dogs
Due to this miraculous figure that provides our gorgeous view
And the reason which helps us realize
The season is new

Many of my circles consist of gamer friends. Around 40% of those friends side with the 360, and when I question them as to why, I usually receive similar answers; great games, exclusivity, and well-developed online service. About the same percentage side with Nintendo, predominantly female, with reasons ranging from ‘actually fun’ and ‘i dunno.’ Playstation 3 was to be the top contender during this year’s console wars in consideration of PS2′s overwhelming lead and success over the competitors. The answers I receive after questioning the smaller, cuter percentage of PS3 fans are somewhat different, and could even be considered artistic for lack of a better term. Being one of those PS3 fans, I could easily relate to most of the answers I had received, which is what i believe makes the PS3 so special. Their recent slogan really says it all.
“It only does everything.”

What were some of those responses?
“because it looks sexy with my home theater system.”
“I like free online play, as I’m more of a casual player.”
“PS3 was a cheap blu-ray player, and it made my kids happy in 1 shot!”
“I’m not hardcore enough for 360, and not woman enough for Wii”
“I grew up trusting Sony after FF7.”
- anonymous friends

My standpoint lies with the hardcore statement. The 40% that I had mentioned earlier who sided with 360 wholeheartedly, 80% of those friends are hardcore gamers. Unfortunately, at the age of 23 with a full time job and a lawn to mow, I can’t put in the hours I used to, to train a game in order to compete online and eventually make it to the MLG(Major League Gaming). In short, the 360 is like Starcraft. You either play to win or you suck, and master chief will sit/stand on your face…. repeatedly.

Here is some proof of my PS3 fanboyism.
